In 2014, job growth reached a 15-year high. Economists say this growth trend is expected to continue into 2015, which is very good news for the 2015 job market. The U.S. economy is growing stronger, and employers are gaining enough confidence in the market to continue hiring.

The last few months of 2014 were booming ones. Employers added 321,000 new jobs in November 2014, and 230,000 new jobs in December 2014. Monthly job gains in 2015 are predicted to keep with this trend, with employers adding an estimated 250,000 – 300,000 jobs per month throughout the year.

According to economists, many of these new jobs will be in health care, as a result of the passing of the Affordable Care Act. Additionally, the increasing demand for more housing will also mean added jobs in construction and finance. Overall, the unemployment rate is expected to fall to at least 5.4% this year (it is currently at 5.8%). For those who are already employed, wage growth of about 3%, which is higher than it has been in years, is predicted.
