The better prepared you are for an interview, the greater your chances of landing the job. Use these interview prep tips to ensure you arrive feeling focused and confident.
- Start preparing possible answers to questions early, so you can relax the night before the interview. This relaxation time puts your mind at ease, so you can think more clearly.
- Check the weather forecast before heading out the door. If there’s a chance of rain, make sure you bring an umbrella or raincoat.
- Make sure you include some hygiene essentials in your bag, just in case you need to do some last-minute grooming. Dental floss, deodorant, and chapstick are all important.
- An hour or so before your interview, call up a friend and have a conversation about something completely unrelated to the interview. This will take your mind off of it, so you don’t get too nervous.
- Remember to turn your phone off as you head into the building for your interview. Nothing is worse than a phone ringing in the middle of an important question.
